Privacy Policy
Nothing you type ever leaves your browser. Here is exactly what the site stores, what Google Analytics records, and how to switch it off.
The short version
This site does not ask for your name, does not set advertising cookies, and does not send the expressions you type anywhere. Conversion happens entirely inside your own browser.
Expressions you convert
Every converter on this site runs as JavaScript in your browser. The expressions you enter are processed on your own device and are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. They are not logged, not stored and not seen by us.
One consequence worth knowing: when you use the converter, the expression is placed in the page address so the result can be bookmarked and shared. That address is handled by your browser like any other URL, which means it can appear in your browser history, and it travels with the link if you share one. Analytics on this site is deliberately configured to report the page without its query string, so the expression is not passed on to Google. If you would rather it did not appear in your own history either, clear the field or use a private window.
Local storage
The site stores a few small values in your browser's local storage. Every one of them exists to remember a preference or your own work, and none of them leaves your device:

These values stay on your device. They are not cookies, they are never sent to a server, and they contain nothing that identifies you — the expressions you convert are stored only because they are yours, not because anyone else can read them. Clearing your site data removes all of them, and the site returns to following your operating system's theme setting.
Offline storage
The site registers a service worker, which is a small script your browser runs to keep a copy of the pages and files you have visited. It is what lets the converter keep working when you lose your connection. The copy is an ordinary cache of the same public files anyone can download from this site; it holds nothing about you, and it is removed when you clear your site data or uninstall the site from your home screen.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. If — and only if — you allow analytics, Google Analytics sets two:

Blocking cookies in your browser, or using any of the opt-outs below, stops both. Nothing on this site stops working without them.
Server logs
The site is served by a hosting provider which, like virtually all web hosts, keeps standard access logs. These typically record the IP address of the request, the page requested, the time, and the browser's user-agent string. They are generated by the hosting infrastructure for security and reliability purposes, are not used to build any profile of you, and are not combined with any other information.
Analytics
This site can use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-D08VNKPQ94) to see which pages are read and which are ignored, so effort goes where it is useful.
It runs only if you allow it. On your first visit you are asked. Until you answer, and for as long as you decline, nothing is requested from Google and no cookie is set — the analytics script is never downloaded at all. Declining also saves you around 450 KB per page. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings, at the bottom of every page; switching to decline deletes the cookies described below.
What it records on a visit:
- the page address, without its query string — see below
- the page you arrived from, and the search term only if your search engine passes one
- approximate location, derived from your IP address and no more precise than a city
- device, browser, operating system, screen size and language
- how long you stayed and which pages you moved between
What you type is not sent. The converter mirrors your expression into the address bar so a result can be bookmarked and shared, and the search panel does the same. Analytics normally reports the full address, which would carry both to Google. This site deliberately reports the page without its query string, so expressions and search terms stay on your device.
Google Analytics does not store IP addresses, and this site does not enable advertising features, remarketing or Google Signals. No data is sold, and nothing here is combined with any other source to identify you. Google acts as a data processor and retains the collected data according to the retention period set in the property.
How to opt out
- Install Google's browser opt-out add-on, which blocks it on every site.
- Block cookies, or third-party scripts, in your browser settings.
- Use any content blocker — analytics on this site is a plain script with no fallback, so blocking it works completely.
- Browse in a private window, so the cookies are discarded when you close it.
Advertising
This site runs no advertising and no advertising pixels. If that changes, this page will be updated to say so.
If you email us
The contact form does not submit anything to this website. It builds a
mailto: link and hands it to your own email application, so nothing is
sent until you press send in your own client.
If you do write to us, we hold your message and your email address for as long as it takes to deal with it, and use them only to reply. They are not added to a mailing list and are not shared with anyone.
External links
Some pages link to other websites. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy practices apply and this policy no longer does.
Children
The site is aimed at students and developers and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Data protection law gives you rights to access, correct and erase personal data held about you. Because this site collects none, there is in practice nothing to access or erase — except any email correspondence you have sent us, which we will delete on request. Write to us using the contact page.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes — new analytics, advertising or anything that collects data — will be described explicitly rather than folded in silently.
